Now don't get me wrong, we have seen the sun, probably on average, once or twice a week since February.. But, always in the middle of the week..
So naturally, after months and months of planning and cancelling, and waiting, we were very super excited to see that the weather might actually be sunny for the weekend!
With no further thought, we grabbed our tent, sleeping bag, and dog, jumped on our scooter and headed up north to a beautiful beach with some friends.
We left Hsinchu at about 8pm and it was about 11pm by the time we got to the beach (via a beer stop at the 7-11 of course). But with the beautiful full moon, it was just glorious already.
We set up camp, cracked open the beers and sat on the sand, listening to the waves, and watching the dogs go crazy with excitement under the light of the moon. What a wonderful way to start the weekend.
We awoke the next morning to a long lost friend. SUN! And lot's of it.. By about 8am, it was obvious we were going to need shelter, and soon..
So Roh and Lorry put their caveman hats on, and with beer in hand - wella! we had a shelter!
About 3pm on Saturday, Roh and I decided to go and explore. This is what we found:
By Sunday afternoon the dogs were absolutely exhausted and pretty much refused to stand up..
No, but seriously, it wasn't the most scenic ride back, but it was still nice, even if to just be riding in the sun! And if you are curious as to how we managed to get both of us, our dog and all of our stuff onto our bike - well ours was nothing compared to Kelli and Lory who had 3 dogs with them!!
