We first learnt about these balls while living in India so still call them the Indian name- Ladoo, but call them what you will - bliss balls/ energy balls/ protein balls... They are just delicious balls of deliciousness! And healthy too!

There are literally a million different ways to make Ladoo but this is our favourite at the moment:

Ingredients: (makes 20+ balls)

1 packet dates

1 packet dedicated coconut

1 TB spoon chia seeds

2 TB raw cacao

1/2 - 1 cup cocoa

Method:

1- soak dates in hot water (just enough water to cover the top)

2- mush them in your hands until they resemble a date mushy soup

3- add chia seeds, cacao, cocoa and a heap of coconut

4- mush everything together, adding more coconut and cocoa until it is a consistency firm enough to make balls out of

5- make balls and roll in coconut to coat

6- try not to eat them all in one sitting... :p

This recipe is already VEGAN and GF.

Other things you can do are to add peanut pieces, peanut butter (reduce amount of dates), dried fruit pieces, sesame seeds. The options and possible flavours are endless!

And little people just LOVE helping too!
