After a nice, smooth flight from Colombo, we arrived to Delhi expecting chaos and mayhem. What we found was a really well organised, clean and helpful airport! We found an ATM, bought a sim card for the phone, purchased a pre-paid taxi ticket and found a taxi, without being hassled even once! WOW!
The prepaid taxi system is actually really well organised. We gave the driver the "drivers receipt" and we kept the "passenger receipt." In order to leave the parking lot the driver had to hand over his receipt and scan his ID! WOW! No chance of being scammed at all!
As expected though, the driver had no idea where our hotel was! But eventually, after asking a few good samaritans along the way we found it, and checked in to an unexpectedly clean, nice room!
It was already quite late so we ventured up to the roof top for some dinner and to people watch.

As our hotel was in the centre of Paharganj, and right on the Main Bazaar, it was so alive with so many sounds and smells. The perfect sensory overload to welcome us to India!
Gypsy was very quick to point out that there were lots of cows around!
