We LOVE freecamping! It gets us off the beaten path and to some really interesting places.
Benalla is one of those amazing little towns we never would have found otherwise.
Benalla is one of those amazing little towns we never would have found otherwise.
In the centre of town is the Lake, with a very popular 4km walking trail around it. We were absolutely amazed by the sheer number of locals using the trail! We had to see for ourselves so we jumped on our bikes and did a lap - or 4..
Dotted all around the lake are little playgrounds and gym equipment setups. What a brilliant use of space! We had so much fun!
After a ride we set out on foot to explore and were totally blown away but what we found. Art structures reminiscent of Gaudi's work, and the most amazing street art!
The town have really embraced street art and hold an annual street art festival! Amazing!
Feeling thirsty we stumbled upon the most adorable little cafe: Chocolate Lane!
It took quite a while before we finally decided which chocolate to eat!! And at $2-$2.50 each it was SOOO hard not to go back for more!
After leaving the chocolate shop, we headed across the road to the library for a little bit, then down the stairs and a quick walk by the lake and we were back at Ned!
It was such a perfect little campground! So perfect in fact that we are back here again now :) And I dare say this won't be our last time!
