Gadds Bend Reserve, Walwa, NSW/VIC border

Looking on Wikicamps, we were undecided between this campground or one just on the other side of the river in Jingellic.
We happened to drive in from the north, so visited the Jingellic camp first and, well, it was okay. It would have been perfect if you had a boat (there is a boat ramp there) or wanted to have a few drinks (it is right next door to a quite adorable looking pub). But as we don't fit either of those categories, the overflowing bins and stench from them, the sheer number of vans parked in close proximity, and the possibility of loud noise from the pub or people walking back late were good enough reasons for us to drive the extra 5 minutes across the bridge to Walwa.
Picture
The Walwa side is massive! There is room for atleast 30 vans (with large amounts of space between them). It is right on a beautiful part of the Murray, shallow enough to walk ankle deep through it, but with deep enough places for swimming. We even saw a platypus!
There is ample firewood, good firepits, large trees for shade, and lots of cows walking through munching on the grass and being social.

We had a very relaxing time, skimming rocks, having picnics, going for walks and looking for platypus. Highly recommended!
