Farleigh beach, cowra

Cowra is such an adorable little town. It's big enough to have convenience shops like bunnings and Aldi, but at the same time it's quaint and adorable. The Main Street is all historical buildings and there are parks and cafes everywhere! Plus an amazing playground by the information center!

The history of the area is really interesting and the information centre have an amazing holographic presentation explaining part of the areas POW history. Really well done!

Just 5 km out is town is Farleigh beach. It's a freecamp and a gorgeous location. The river bank is all sand, and the water is icy cold. Just perfect! There are ample places to park and so many birds and kangaroos. It's serenity at its best.

I mean, you know it's a good place when there are more local families coming and going then there are campers!!

@ cowra, NSW

Cost : free! But please spend in town.

Showers: at the petrol station next to the information centre.

What do you when it's just too hot to move?

Find a campground by a river of course!!

And so we find ourselves at ponto falls.

Picture

It's a pretty free camp with lots of bird life, lots of cows and sheep wandering around and most importantly of all, a refreshingly cool (almost cold) river to sit in!

Picture

But with it being sooooo hot we had to get clever and sit in the water with an umbrella!!

Oh, and this is the current temperature!!

Burren junction springs

It was tough to drag ourselves away from bingara and the Gwydir river, but today we have entered an entirely different world!

We are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by arid land, and an onsen (artesian bore bath!) How random!

Sitting in the bath brought back so many memories from Japan! Japan really knows how to have a bath :)

These were nice too! The flies... Not so nice..
