WOW hasn’t that gone fast!?
So here are a few questions I thought I’d ask myself (lol) on your behalf:
Where are you?
Today we crossed back into QLD! We are camped up by the Camooweal Billabong in Camooweal with literally 100 other campers! It’s the busiest freecamp we’ve ever seen. Partly because of the Drover’s festival on this weekend, and partly because it’s just a beautiful oasis of trees, billabongs, and birds after hundreds of kilometres of red soil.
Favourite place so far?
Hmmm… It’s really hard to say… I truly loved Kings Canyon and the Devil’s Marbles but the Flinders Ranges were pretty amazing too!
Any problems with NED?
We actually just had our first problem a couple of days ago. One of the hatches on the 4 seasons hatch has broken and won’t close. Just as well it’s not raining!! Apart from that NED has been perfect!
How many KM so far?
How much have you spent on petrol (diesel)?
Most expensive fuel?
$2/litre (diesel) at Yulara. Although we’ve seen more expensive ($2.18 in Gemtree) but just kept driving.
-6C overnight at Belanglo state forest, NSW
Seen much wildlife?
We’ve seen Kangaroos, wallabies, Emus, Eagles, Owls, Dingoes, wild donkey, wild camel, wild horses, domesticated horses, sheep, goats, cow, more cow, lots of birds and lizards.
What is your daily routine like?
We don’t drive everyday but when we do it usually looks like this:
* Wakeup around 7am, have breakfast, get changed, wash our faces, brush our teeth, wash up, pack up and hit the road between 8:30-9am.
* Morning tea at 10am
* Lunch at 12pm
* Find somewhere to camp and stop driving for the day around 2pm.
* Afternoon tea around 3pm
* Gypsy to bed at 7pm
* Adults to bed around 9:30pm.
Feel free to ask any other questions you might have!!
100 days down, who knows how many more to go! Let the adventure continue!
