To put it simply.. WALK THE RIM!
Unless of course you physically can’t.
We walked it with Gypsy. Actually, apart from the first part which is a set of stairs that literally go straight up a very steep mountain (with really really strong winds on the day we did it) she walked most of it by herself.
I won’t sugar coat it, the first bit was hard. VERY hard. But after that, it’s really, really easy. It’s not flat – there are little bits to go down or up and there are some stairs here and there too, but for the most part, it’s pretty flat and a very easy walk.
The recommended time for the 6km is 4 hours. Even with Gypsy and taking several rests a long the way, we did it in exactly 4 hours.
And it was amazing.
Uluru was a very spiritual and special place; Kata Tjuta was beautiful but Kings Canyon is somewhere words just can’t describe. It’s awesome in the true meaning on the word.
Here are some pictures!
Now it’s time for you to start planning your next trip to here!!
