I don’t really know when Roh and I decided we wanted to buy a motorhome and drive around Australia It’s something we had both wanted to do but the actual planning of it just kind of happened. For some reason, Gypsy’s second birthday just seemed like the right time.
So the deal was done!
We booked our tickets back to Australia – where neither of us have lived for MANY years, and started scouring motorhome ads.
We soon realised we may have bitten off more than we could chew.
I mean, how hard could it be to find a van/motorhome/bus with 3 seats and a childseat anchor point?! Right? Surely other people travelled with kids too right? Right!?!
Wrong..
9 out of 10, actually, more like 9.8 out of 10 vans/buses/motorhomes only have 2 seats. And those rare ones that do have a third seat, only have a sideways facing seat. Which is illegal for us. And the few that we did find that met our seating requirements were either A)disgusting, B)barely mobile or C)waay to expensive for us.
And then we found NED.
Not only does he have 3 seats in the front but he also has an anchor point!!
He is mechanically sound and has a brand new restored engine!
He has 2 beds!
He is adorable!
He pretty much ticked all of our boxes and more.
Oh, and he was cheap.
Sure, there is lots to do on him. But he has so much potential!
So, meet NED!
Our new home for the next 1 – 1.5 years.
